Bose Audio System with Six-Disc CD Changer, MP3 Player and Seven Speakers
The Z51 Performance Package provides the ultimate driving experience in sixth-generation form. As opposed to just being a suspension package as it was in the past, Z51 takes on an all-new meaning in 2005. It includes performance-tuned tires the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMTs with a special asymmetrical tread pattern for better overall performance, especially in dry conditions. It features larger and thicker brake rotors that are cross-drilled. Z51 also includes special performance gear ratios in both automatic and manual versions as well as performance-tuned stabilizer bars, springs and shocks, and special coolers for oil, transmission and power steering. The result: 0-60 time is reduced to 4.1 seconds and lateral acceleration is increased to .98g. If no-compromise performance driving is your forte, this is your Corvette. It's the closest thing to the fifth-generation Z06, yet you can even order it in a convertible.

For superior audio performance, a Bose audio system with a six-disc in-dash CD/MP3 player is also available. The Bose system consists of a 3.5-inch speaker in the center of the dashboard, two 10-inch woofers in each door and two 3.5-inch speakers also in each door located directly above the woofers. In coupe models, two 5.25-inch speakers are mounted on the left and right sides of the interior behind the seats. And in convertible models, two 5.25-inch speakers are mounted behind each seat.
The in-dash CD player will also play MP3 files recorded onto a disc and will store a play list of up to 36 tracks, which can be viewed in the radio display or on the Head-Up Display in street mode.
AudioPilot the leading edge in noise compensation technology is also offered in the Bose system. A microphone inside the cabin continuously listens to the ambient noise, tracking the amount and characteristics of that sound. AudioPilot then adjusts the characteristics of the audio system's output not just the volume to compensate for the optimal sound quality. In this fashion, AudioPilot continuously adjusts the sound quality, compensating for conditions such as road noise. The Bose system also features special top-down equalization that activates automatically in convertibles.
